Kara Bullock has mainly been based on the Unceded Territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil Waututh, and the land of Treaty 7.

She received training at Arts Umbrella's Professional Training Program, the Ailey School in New York City, Modus Operandi and Douglas College. Further professional development from One Yellow Rabbit, gloATL, Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, the Banff Centre, Momo Movement and NYC Movement Studio.

Kara performed with Judith Marcuse Projects; Josh Beamish’s company MOVE as an apprentice and Amber Funk Barton’s company as an apprentice. She worked as an interpreter for Pam Tzeng, Sylvie Moquin, Elaine Weryshko, Sylvie Moquin, Kyra Newton, Tia Halliday, Nicole Mion, Thoenn Glover, Hailey McCloskey, Anna Kraulis and Claire French.

She has performed and choreographed her own work with Dancers' Studio West, Evergreen SPACES, To the Awe, DJD Creative Residency and Community Concert, Shooting Gallery Performance (Future Leisure), TB Weekends, Springboard Performance at containR, TJ Labs at the Grand, Ignite Series, Bloom with Mascall Dance, Vancouver Fringe Festival, Dance Fest at Next Fest, 12 Mins Max at the Dance Centre and the Fresh Meat Festival.

As a facilitator and coordinator, she has worked with Helping Every Artist Live (H.E,A,L.), Mountain Standard Time Performative Art, Antyx Community Arts, Esker Foundation, the YMCA, the Calgary Chinese Citizens Elderly Association, the MRU Student Association, and the Richmond Multicultural Society in addition to dozens of dance schools across Alberta and British Columbia.
